With the „Fuell Cell (FC) - Extension“
of our FormBalancer, the performance
spectrum of the standard version can
be extended by the series production
of metallic bipolar plates for fuel cells.
With water pressures of up to 4000 bar,
the metal plates are formed into the
desired geometry. This forming process
takes place fully automatically from the
coil in series production. As a result,
quantities of approx. 1,400 pieces/h can
be produced even on the smallest machine
when using a four-cavity mold. In
addition to fully automatic series operation,
prototyping or very small series
can be run in manual mode.
The size of the machine varies according
to customer requirements. This
ensures a cost-efficient solution at all
times. The machine impresses with its
compact design and low weight, so that
it can be installed in a space-saving
manner without the need for a reinforced
shop floor.
The range of materials that can be used
with the FormBalancer is diverse. It
ranges from aluminum alloys to stainless
steels and titanium alloys, among
others. The component quality is clearly
superior to traditional deep-drawing
technology in terms of excellent surface
finish and high geometric precision.
In contrast to conventional manufacturing
processes, the hydroforming tools
used are significantly less expensive.
